Update on Servers and Echo

OK, so the server is now officially up...well, at least a team speak server....I got an old laptop with 5.1 gigs of hard drive space and so I installed windows XP which is running grudgingly and now has a TS2 server up on it...Until TS 3 works out its bugs we are returning to TS 2...now the good news is that this server should be up for 95-98% of the time :mrgreen: w00t. So this is the new IP address...

Ok well since my ability to edit my post in this thread has apparently been revoked...**unhappy face**...I am putting the update for the TS3 server in another post here...The TS3 server is up...

I will edit this post later today after I sleep cause i spent all night setting it up so.

So you have a teamspeak, we have xfire, and the steam messenger....isn't that a lot?

its actually not a lot see X-Fire is the main messenger program but its Voice chat SUX!!!! Steam is what Echo uses since our most active FPS's are on STEAM and it is required to run the games we play....And its voice quality is still not that great, this brings us to Team speak... Team speak is the all around easiest and best way for me to host a free voice thing...we have other options... Skype (not at all convenient and a bandwidth hog), Vent which I can host but cant figure out how to make myself an admin on so we would have no power to enforce anything in the server( not cool at all), and Teamspeak which with the release of V3 is the best option so far....

Do to the beta of TS3 still being a bit sketchy the server will be down for an undetermined amount of time....With the last update I believe it made it so you cannot connect to an outdated server I have not decided yet but I may revert back to TS2 until the first none beta release for the TS3 comes out...

As for myself I may be out of commission for the next several days owing to the fact that I am using a copy of the windows 7 beta build that expires 3 days from today, 2/26/2010. So I do have a full copy of Ultimate but I do not know how long it will take me to get everything back to normal last time I upgraded my OS it took about a week...I am hoping it will be significantly less time this time...So wish me luck and heres to hoping...
